Compariqo is an independent structural warranty provider. We work within the residential construction industry to provide choice and transparency to our customers in their search for a structural warranty. 

We’re looking for people with energy, enthusiasm, self-motivation, hunger and a desire to progress, working as part of our team

Our priority is to provide excellent service to our clients. We take the hassle out of searching for a quote and our research has found that we save the average customer six hours of time in searching for the right quote for a structural warranty.

 

As an independent warranty provider, our customers know that we’re transparent in our services…we offer them a range of products and make them fully aware of all of the key facts including the small print, as no one likes nasty surprises.  

What do we sell? 

10-year structural defects insurance…also known as a Structural Warranty.

Who do we sell to? 

Developers, builders, and introducers working within the construction industry.

Where do we get our products from?

We source the appropriate level of cover from our own key relationships directly with insurance providers. 

Compariqo specialises in arranging ten and twelve-year structural warranty and insurance cover as well as extensive property finance solutions for the construction industry and property market throughout the UK.

Role 1

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic Risk Management Surveyor to join our existing team at Compariqo ™. You will be providing professional advice on all aspects of property and construction and primarily responsible for carrying out risk assessments on properties that have been registered by the company in order that they meet building regulations and are built in accordance with our technical requirements.

 

Role 1

Risk Management Surveyor

Location – Belfast and Liverpool

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • This is a home-based role, but the Risk Management Surveyor will spend a significant amount of time completing site visits and therefore you must be willing to travel and have a Full UK Driving licence.
  • Carrying out site inspections on new build dwellings. This involves inspecting the dwellings at various stages during construction and liaising with builders and developers on any technical issues. or sub-standard/remedial works.
  • Investigating structural issues and rainwater ingress claims. Co-ordinating contractors/developers to remediate structural issues and moisture ingress throughout.
  • Producing inspection reports and sign off on Professional Consultant’s Certificates (“PCC’s”).   
  • Provide a superior client service through building and maintaining strong client relationships as well as efficiently and accurately responding to client enquiries.
  • Effectively managing workload to ensure a timely, helpful and professional service to clients in planning and execution of inspections, while maximising the number of inspections in any given day.
  • Ensuring inspections target a zero claims ratio.
  • Regular liaison with other team Surveyors to ensure inspection standards and services are consistent.

Desired Skills & Experience 

Qualified surveyor (TechRICS, ACIOB ABEng, LICWCI or similar).

An understanding of latent defect risk management and the methods for mitigating claims.

Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects.

Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Self starter, self motivated and committed to providing superior client service.

Full UK Drivers Licence (clean).

Role 2

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Underwriter to join our existing team at Compariqo ™. You will be play a crucial role in auditing, assessing, managing and mitigating risk; as well as driving performance and ensuring compliance across the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assessing client background information and liaising with specialists and professionals to calculate, judge, and assess risks
  • Oversee the approval and issuance of final certificates and conditional policies
  • Completion of Bordereau to insurers
  • Negotiating and agreeing terms and conditions with internal and external customers
  • Making decisions on high risk and/or high value quotes
  • Taking decisions for the company regarding the selection of appropriate and competitive premiums
  • Auditing and preparing client files for insurer inspections, ensuring compliance across the company
  • Ownership and continuous review of the compliance plan, ensuring processes are in place for the management and maintenance of client files and monitoring programme
  • Producing reports outlining progress against the plan
  • In liaison with HR, continuously review, revise, train and assess the knowledge of all staff, ensuring compliance through the adequate understanding and application of policies including but not limited to anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, conflicts of interest, complaints, treating customers fairly and whistleblowing
  • Overseeing the timely collation of all AI reports and introducer agreements, ensuring they are up-to-date, fit-for-purpose and enforced in line with company policy
  • Ensuring the maintenance of claims, conflicts of interest and the complaints register, putting in place plans to protect the business through training, high levels of service and compliance

 

Desired Skills & Experience 

Must be a member of RICS or equivalent

Ideally trained in auditing with experience of managing and preparing files ensuring compliance

Excellent decision making and negotiation skills

Ability to build rapport at all levels and communicate effectively

Credibility within the market, with a solid background in either insurance or real estate
