The UK firm Morris Property has recently started working on a £4.5m office and industrial park in Telford, Shropshire, in aims to attract more jobs and investment to the area.
This new working space will include 63,000 sq ft of light industrial space with 26 units to be constructed on land fronting the A442 Queensway road.
The five-acre building site was purchased from the Homes and Communities Agency and Telford & Wrekin Council and if progress continues as anticipated, the units will be for sale in the first phase by Q1 of 2020.
The joint agents for the development, Matt Tilt industrial agency director at Lambert Smith Hampton’s Birmingham office and Alex Smith associate director at Andrew Dixon & Company, have been assigned to the task to credit their regional and more specifically, their local expertise.
The head of estates at Morris Property, Liz Lowe, said: “It is a great location to attract business investment and jobs in a growth area which has benefited from huge investment by Telford & Wrekin Council. The site is easily accessible with good communication links to the M54 motorway.”
In addition to the launch of this office park construction, Morris Property recently completed the £3.2 million project with Telford and Wrekin Council to enhance an extension to a local primary school.
The construction has provided five new classrooms, a commercial kitchen, a hall, a nursery and toilets.
The Assistant Construction Manager from Morris Property, Steve Bowen, said: “It’s been great working with the team at Ladygrove Primary School. The staff and pupils have been very understanding whilst the work has been going on and I’m pleased we were able to deliver the project on time and on budget. We wish everyone all the best for the new term.”
Morris Property also delivered a soft play surfaced play area to the rear of the nursery, new car parking and paved areas within newly landscaped grounds.
Ladygrove’s Head Teacher, Jo Weichlbauer, also stated: “Speaking
on behalf of everyone at the school, we are so pleased with the new extension.
This exciting move forward increases our roll to 420 pupils, and I am looking
forward to welcoming everyone to our newly extended home in September.”
These adjustments were made to the school in order to provide a safe, modern place for residents in the local towns as a wave of new housing has brought higher demand to the area. Morris Property continues to prospect construction plans for areas across the UK.
